Can I purchase the copyright to an image?
Unless specifically negotiated in writing, licensing an image does not transfer copyright or ownership. Copyright remains with Professor Hines LLC / Kenneth Hines, Jr.
Your license grants permission to use the selected photograph according to the terms established for your project.
Are all of your photographs available for licensing?
No. Availability varies by photograph/collection and intended use.
However, the Professor Hines archive extends well beyond the photographs currently displayed online. If you have seen a particular image elsewhere, please inquire about its availability.
How much does image licensing cost?
Licensing is quoted individually based on factors such as usage, placement, duration, distribution, territory, audience, and exclusivity.
Providing detailed information about your project allows for the most accurate quote.
Can I license an image for social media?
Yes. Select photographs may be licensed for social media and digital campaigns.
Commercial use of an image on social media requires an appropriate license and is separate from simply sharing or reposting Professor Hines' original content.
Can an image be licensed exclusively?
Exclusive licensing may be available for select photographs and projects.
Because exclusivity can restrict future use of an image, pricing and availability will depend on the requested duration, territory, industry, and scope of exclusivity.
Can I modify a licensed photograph?
Cropping or resizing necessary for an approved placement may be permitted, but significant alterations, compositing, filters, AI modification, or other changes should not be made unless specifically authorized within the licensing agreement.
Can I use an image I found on your website or social media?
Displaying an image publicly does not automatically grant permission for commercial, promotional, editorial, or other third-party use.
